On their way home from work, Tamura and Hayashi stop in at a coffee shop to discuss what they should give their colleague, Yamanaka to congratulate him on his new baby

T:         Are you going home right away? If you have time, how about having some tea here befor you
go? I have something I would like to discuss with you.
H:        What is it?
T:         The Yamanaka's have just had a new baby and I would like to give them a gift.
H:         Is that right? I haven't heard anything about it. When was it?
T:          It was last Monday. It was a boy.
H:          Well then, let's go discuss what to give them.
T:          If it's not crowded, why don't we go in that coffee shop over there?
H:          O.K. there'll probably be planty of room.
T:           Oh, there's lots of room. Let's sit over there. What'll you have?
(The waitress comes. Tamura orders coffee, and Hayashi, ice cream.)
H:           Ice cream would be fine. If they don't have it, I'll have tea.
T:           What do you think would be good? If it were a girl, a doll would be nice. But what would be
               suitable for a boy?

The Yamanaka's have had a baby boy and  Tamura and Hayashi are discussing what they should give them as a congratulatory present.
