A foreign teacher and a Japanese teacher are discussing how their students act in the classroom.)

F.T:       Japanese students are well-mannered, aren't they?
J.T:        Really? I don't think they are particularly good.
FT:        There aren't any students who chew gum or smoke during class, are there?
J.P:        They don't usually do much things in Japanese schools.
F.S:        In my country, some students smoke while listening to lectures, and bring coffee into the
              classroom.
JP.         Is that right? Don't their teachers tell them not to?
FT:        No, not especially.
JP:         Are there many students who talk during class?
FT:         No, everyone listens attentively to the lecture.
JT:         Well, it's all right then.
FT:         However, it would be more pleasant to have well-mannered students.
